US Blocks Delivery Of Iraqi Oil Revenues To Pressure Baghdad Into Disarming Resistance: Report
Iraqi resistance groups carried out scores of operations targeting US military installations in Iraq throughout the US-Israeli war on Iran
US President Donald Trump’s administration has frozen security cooperation programs with Baghdad and blocked dollar shipments from reaching Iraq in a bid to pressure the government to dismantle Iran-backed resistance organizations, according to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ).
“A cargo-plane delivery of nearly $500 million in US banknotes, the proceeds from Iraqi oil sales from Federal Reserve Bank of New York accounts, was blocked recently by Treasury Department officials because of US concerns about the militias,” Iraqi and US officials told WSJ on 21 April.
“It was the second scheduled shipment of dollars to the Central Bank of Iraq delayed by the US since the start of the Iran war in late February,” the sources added…
The report came a day after the Iraqi central bank announced that it was not short on dollars and “fulfilled all requests from banks and exchange companies for US dollars.”

….The real question is why should the sovereign country of Iraq … have to beg the US permission to conduct business with its neighbor that is in its own interest?
Somewhere in the answer to that question, is the prime reason for why BRICS is rising.
