Israeli Soldier Indicted On Charges Of Selling ‘Iron Dome Secrets’ To Iran
The reservist soldier allegedly provided photos, videos, and coordinates of Israeli military targets to an Iranian handler via Telegram
A reservist Israeli soldier in a missile defense unit has been indicted on accusations of spying for Iran, Israeli media reported on 20 March.
Raz Cohen, a 26-year-old resident of occupied Jerusalem, was recently arrested on suspicion of carrying out security offenses for Iran in exchange for payment.
He was arrested in a joint operation by the Shin Bet and the police’s Lahav 433 major crimes unit.
According to the indictment filed by the Jerusalem District Attorney’s Office, Cohen had been communicating with an Iranian agent since December via the Telegram messaging app.
He is accused of transferring sensitive security information regarding the Iron Dome, which fires interceptors to shoot down short-range missiles and rockets.
