 ICE Arrests British Journalist Over Criticism Of Israel

Sami Hamdi was detained while on a speaking tour in the US after being accused of ‘Hamas links’ and ‘terror ties’ by a conservative activist

US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested UK journalist and commentator Sami Hamdi, revoking his visa as he was carrying out a speaking tour across the country.

“Under President Trump, those who support terrorism and undermine American national security will not be allowed to work or visit this country,” said a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security.

Hamdi had spoken at a Gala for the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) in Sacramento, California, over the weekend. He was also due for a speech at a CAIR event in Florida on 26 October.

The British commentator was arrested at San Francisco International Airport. According to CAIR, his arrest is directly tied to his criticism of Israel and support for Palestinian human rights.

“Abducting a prominent British Muslim journalist and political commentator on a speaking tour in the United States because he dared to criticize the Israeli government’s genocide is a blatant affront to free speech,” CAIR said.

It also said Hamdi’s arrest came “at the urging of notorious anti-Muslim, pro-Israel extremist” Laura Loomer.

CAIR added that its lawyers were working to “address this injustice,” demanding an end to the abduction of Israel’s critics at the “behest of unhinged Israel First bigots.”

Loomer, a conservative journalist and pro-MAGA, pro-Israel activist, confirmed that Hamdi’s detention was carried out in response to her demands.

“CAIR has been identified in federal proceedings as having historical financial and organizational ties to Hamas – a designated foreign Islamic terrorist organization – and the Muslim Brotherhood,” Loomer claimed.

“CAIR issued a press release criticizing my advocacy efforts to get Jihadist Sami Hamdi deported from the US,” she added. She called Hamdi a “vocal supporter of Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood” who has “Islamic terror ties.”

“I demanded that federal authorities inside the Trump administration treat Hamdi as the major national security threat that he is,” she went on to say.
