The United Arab Emirates has built covert air routes across Africa to supply Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces, according to reporting by Le Monde. Cargo flights have moved through hubs in Ethiopia and the Central African Republic, forming a sustained logistical chain using aircraft with obscured ownership and limited tracking visibility.
The RSF, led by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, is at the center of Sudan’s war against forces loyal to Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, with widespread reports of atrocities in Darfur and other areas. Analysts link Abu Dhabi’s growing economic presence in Central Africa to the expansion of these supply corridors, turning the region into a key transit zone for weapons and fighters.
The war has spilled across borders, pulling in actors from Chad to eastern Libya, where networks tied to Khalifa Haftar continue to facilitate supply lines.
