❗️Sudan’s army chief rejects US-led ceasefire plan as ‘the worst yet’
Sudan’s army chief Abdel-Fattah Burhan has dismissed a new US-led ceasefire proposal as “the worst document yet,” accusing the Quad mediators — the US, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the UAE — of bias and claiming the plan dismantles the military while keeping the Rapid Support Forces in their current positions.
He said Washington’s adviser Massad Boulos was trying to “impose some conditions on us” and warned the mediation was drifting in an unacceptable direction.
Burhan added that the army will only accept a truce once the RSF withdraws from civilian areas.
