Israel’s Defence Minister Israel Katz publicly confirmed intentions to occupy a significant portion of Lebanese territory, announcing an expanded Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) presence in southern Lebanon and a shift toward a more sustained military footprint up to the Litani River.
🔫The IDF has reportedly ordered 53 Lebanon towns to evacuate, alongside an increased buildup of troops in the area.
Considering the US-Israel ongoing war on Iran, this move mirrors Israel’s 1982 invasion of Lebanon, which began as an alleged operation against the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) but developed into a prolonged military presence, with occupation lasting nearly two decades.

😶🌫️ Millions forcibly displaced
▪️Israel recently displaced over one million Lebanese and caused widespread civilian casualties, including women, children, and medical workers.
▪️Damage to critical infrastructure includes bridges, homes, and villages that have been systematically targeted and devastated.
▪️Meanwhile, three million Iranian citizens are displaced because of the US-Israel war in Iran, and two million Palestinians are displaced because of the war in Gaza.
Since 2024, Israeli forces have stayed deployed inside Lebanon and are now pushing deeper, expanding ground operations into a zone of up to 30 km.
