– Expulsion of the entire Israeli diplomatic delegation
– Termination of Colombia’s free trade agreement with Israel
– Replacement of US-supplied weapons with national equipment
– Legal action in international and Israeli courts
Petro warned that Israel’s actions amount to “a new international crime” by Netanyahu, calling on global lawyers to support Colombia’s case.
Note: According to an official source quoted by AFP, only four Israeli diplomats with diplomatic status remained in Colombia after Bogota decided to cut ties with Israel in 2024 in protest against its war on Gaza, while a limited consular presence of about 40 staff continued.
