❗️Armenian group flags Randy Fine, known for support of Israel, over Azerbaijan arms bill
The Armenian National Committee of America reports that Florida Representative Randy Fine has cosponsored a bill to greenlight US arms and aid to Azerbaijan in what it describes as “the wake of its ethnic cleansing of Armenian Christians.” The claim has intensified scrutiny over congressional support for Baku, particularly in the aftermath of the ethnic cleansing of Nagorno-Karabakh.
Fine’s record has also drawn attention for his consistent alignment with pro-Israel positions in US politics, with critics placing him within a broader bloc of lawmakers closely associated with pro-Israel lobbying networks and rhetoric aligned with Zionist political framing, particularly amid the genocide in Gaza. This alignment has translated into strong political backing for Israel, including statements that have sparked significant backlash. In social media posts, Fine responded to reports of calculated starvation in Gaza by saying, “Release the hostages. Until then, starve away.” He has also drawn criticism for framing Israel’s war objectives in Gaza through the lens of total-war historical analogies, referencing World War II and suggesting Gaza should face “complete and total surrender,” remarks that normalize collective punishment and dehumanization amid the genocide.
The Azerbaijan-Israel relationship forms another layer of this wider geopolitical nexus, one in which Fine’s positions are part of a broader pattern of alignment with states and policies closely linked through defense, intelligence, and energy cooperation. Israel remains a key arms supplier to Azerbaijan, while Baku provides strategic regional access and energy routes that complement Israeli interests. Such partnerships reflect an interconnected network of political and military support structures that persist even as Israel continues its US-backed genocide in Gaza, amid military aggression against Iran and Lebanon.
