US Vice President JD Vance was repeatedly interrupted by audience members during a Turning Point USA event in Georgia, as tensions flared over his defense of Washington’s stance on the US-Israeli war on Iran and on Gaza, where Israel continues to kill Palestinians on a near-daily basis.

While addressing students, Vance pushed back against remarks by Pope Leo criticizing war, arguing that armed force could be justified in certain contexts. During his speech, a heckler shouted “Jesus Christ does not support genocide,” prompting Vance to respond that he agreed with the principle before attempting to continue.

The exchange escalated when another voice from the audience challenged him directly over Gaza, asking why the US was “committing genocide,” forcing a brief pause in the event as Vance tried to regain control of the discussion.
