VIDEO | Israel’s Minister of National Security, Ben-Gvir, has published a video appearing to show a platform prepared for the execution of Palestinian detainees by hanging.
The footage comes days after Israel passed a new law mandating the death penalty for Palestinian detainees. The legislation removes key safeguards, including avenues for appeal and clemency, and applies within a system where Palestinians are tried under military jurisdiction.
Palestinians prosecuted in these courts face conviction rates that consistently exceed 95 percent, with multiple reports placing the figure closer to 99 percent, raising serious concerns about due process and the likelihood of wrongful convictions under a system now empowered to impose capital punishment.
