UAE Balks At Joining Gaza ‘Stabilization Force’
The UAE and other regional states fear their troops would be used to confront Hamas
The UAE is unlikely to contribute troops to an international force that will occupy post-war Gaza, a senior Emirati official stated on 10 November, citing the lack of a clear framework for the US-backed initiative.
“The UAE does not yet see a clear framework for the stability force, and under such circumstances will probably not participate in such a force,” presidential advisor Anwar Gargash explained while speaking at a forum in Abu Dhabi.
US President Donald Trump wants to establish an International Stabilization Force (ISF) to control Gaza as part of his ceasefire plan that took effect on 11 October.
Despite the ceasefire, Israel continues to bomb the strip, kill civilians, and limit the entry of aid into the strip.
Over 240 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli airstrikes and attacks in Gaza since the US-backed ceasefire went into effect.

Trump’s Gaza reconstruction plan envisions rebuilding only within areas under Israeli control in the strip
Saudi Arabia and the UAE are pushing back against US President Donald Trump’s plan to construct roughly half a dozen residential regions on the eastern half of Gaza, which is currently under Israeli control, The Times of Israel reported on 2 November.
Citing two Arab diplomats familiar with the matter, The Times of Israel said that Trump and his real estate developer son-in-law, Jared Kushner, have proposed the plan to donors in the Gulf to build the “new Gaza” on the eastern side of the strip only, which is now under direct Israeli control.
