Trump Claims ‘Big Wave’ Coming Against Iran As Pentagon Says More Troops Deployed To Defend Israel
The US president says he ‘doesn’t rule out’ sending ground troops to fight in Iran
US President Donald Trump told the New York Post on 2 March that he is not ruling out putting US boots on the ground in Iran.
“I don’t have the yips with respect to boots on the ground – like every president says, ‘There will be no boots on the ground,’ I don’t say it,” he said, insisting he may deploy troops “if they were necessary.”
Regarding the pace of the war, Trump claimed it was “moving pretty quickly.”
“We’re right on schedule, way ahead of schedule in terms of leadership – 49 killed – and that was, you know, going to take, we figured, at least four weeks, and we did it in one day,” he added.
The initial US-Israeli attack on Saturday killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and other top political and military figures.
