There is no trails, no processes. Only a bullet to the head and being dumped on the road.

And while the low-rank soldiers and informats (both volunteers and coerced) are being murdered, high rank officials either defected before the fall of the previous state and reconciled or escaped to Lebanon and Iraq.

Most of the soldiers who are being given am amnesty are Syrian sunni soldiers and officers, who made the majority of the Syrian Arab Army. Alawites made the a large portion of higher ranks, but not exclusively.

Sectarian violence is also being reported, where the tombs of Alawite elders and scholars are being burned and exhumed.”
