Clearly these sailors actually know a bit about history and how the sinking of a ship leads to even more war.
The Lusitania during WW1 was likely sunk on the orders of Churchill who had consistently said he hoped German attacks on US Shipping would see American involvement in the war.
Likewise the Gulf of Tonkin incident that started the full US involvement in the Vietnam War was a made up hoax, the North Vietnamese didn’t attack US ships.
The only major false flag ship incident that didn’t actually work was the USS Liberty where ‘israel’ hoped to sink the ship and blame it on the Egyptians but the US sailors recognised it wasn’t Egyptians attacking them but ‘israelis’.
