Musa Nawawra, a 71 year-old from Bethlehem, has been imprisoned by Israel since 2007, serving two life sentences plus 21 years. He is the father of 13 children, five of whom have been imprisoned by Israel.
During the great 1987 Intifada, he was arrested and placed in administrative detention. With the outbreak of the Al-Aqsa Intifada, he became a leader in Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, and was pursued by Israel from 2000 to 2007.
In 2007, he was besieged for four hours by Israeli occupation forces that deployed over 50 military vehicles. Following his capture, he endured two months of intense and torturous interrogation.
He is the oldest of the Palestinian prisoners that were liberated today.
