 Keep Dreaming: Khamenei Dismisses Trump’s Claim US ‘Obliterated’ Iran’s Nuclear Program

The IAEA believes Iran still possesses roughly 400 kilograms of 60 percent enriched uranium

Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei rejected on 20 October all US interference in his country’s nuclear program, emphasizing that US President Donald Trump could “keep dreaming” if he thinks it has been destroyed.

In a speech addressing young Iranian athletes on Monday, Khamenei referred to Trump’s claim that US airstrikes had “obliterated” Iran’s nuclear program during the 12-day war on the Islamic Republic initiated by Israel in June.

“Keep dreaming. But who are you, anyway, to set dos and don’ts for a country simply because it possesses a nuclear industry? What does it have to do with the United States whether Iran has nuclear capabilities or not?” the supreme leader stated.

“Such interference is inappropriate, wrong, and bullying,” he added.

Khamenei went on to discuss Iran’s achievements in the nuclear research field, including its “nano, laser, nuclear, various military industries, and medical advancements.”
