 Iran, Pakistan Ink 12 Cooperation Deals To Boost Trade And Regional Connectivity

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said the two Islamic nations can connect the Silk Road trade route between China and Europe

Iranian and Pakistani officials signed 12 cooperation agreements in Islamabad on 3 August during the back end of a two-day trip to Pakistan by Iranian President, Masoud Pezeshkian.

The agreements promote cooperation between the two Islamic countries in the scientific, technological, transportation, judicial, industrial, economic, trade, tourism, and agricultural fields, Tasnim News Agency reported.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian was first welcomed in Lahore on Saturday by Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, before continuing the talks Sunday in Islamabad.

Pezeshkian was accompanied by a delegation of diplomats, including Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who held talks with Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar.

Welcoming the Iranian president, the deputy prime minister/foreign minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s deep commitment to its historic and brotherly ties with Iran, emphasising their strong foundations in shared history, common cultural heritage, faith, and mutual respect,” read a statement issued by Pakistan’s foreign ministry.
