Iran has successfully tested its own intercontinental ballistic missile for the first time, which could reach as far as the U.S.
The Iranian missile is a Khorramshahr-5:
• its range is up to 12,000 km;
• speed up to Mach 16 (over 5 km/s),
• warhead up to 2 tons.
Analysts add: such a missile only makes sense as a nuclear carrier, because hitting the US with a conventional warhead is too expensive and ineffective.
