 Iran, Armenia Sign 10 Cooperation Deals During Pezeshkian Visit

Armenia gave assurances to Iran over its ‘red lines’ relating to the Zangezur Corridor project

Iran and Armenia signed multiple cooperation agreements on 19 August, during Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian’s visit to Yerevan.

An MoU was signed between the Ministry of Economy and Iran’s National Standards Organization on cooperation in standardization, accreditation, conformity assessment, and other areas. The countries also signed memorandums of cooperation in the fields of tourism, vocational education and training, urban development and construction, pharmaceuticals, culture and cinema,” according to Armenpress.

The two countries also agreed “to strengthen cooperation on transport and transit infrastructure, while addressing disputes over tariff imbalances,” Iran’s Tasnim News Agency reported.

A total of 10 cooperation agreements were signed between the two countries.

In a statement, Pezeshkian said he called on Armenia to address concerns over foreign forces near their shared border.
