Al Mayadeen’s correspondent reported on Saturday that Israeli occupation forces are building a new observation post near the agricultural tower in the town of Jabata al-Khashab, in the northern part of Quneitra, Syria.
A few days ago, the Israeli newspaper Maariv revealed that the Israel is “altering the reality in the areas where it is deployed in Syria, as it prepares for a long-term presence.”
The newspaper confirmed that the Israeli army has transformed former Syrian military sites into Israeli installations, integrating advanced technological systems to ensure a prolonged presence in the buffer zone.
It quoted the Israeli army as stating that it “does not know how long the forces will need to remain in the buffer zone in Syria.” However, based on developments on the ground, the army “has no intention of withdrawing shortly.”
The newspaper also reported on some of the Israeli army’s actions in the area, noting that it carried out large-scale deforestation in the buffer zone, uprooting a forest.
