Washington Drafted, Shelved Memo Denouncing ‘Unacceptable’ UK Sanctions On Illegal Israeli Settlements
The unreleased US government memo says the UK sanctions draw from the ‘playbook’ of ‘antisemitic boycotts’
The US drafted a statement attributed to Secretary of State Marco Rubio calling the UK measures against illegal West Bank settlements “unacceptable,” but never released the memo, according to a 24 September Reuters report.

“US officials in Jerusalem and Washington prepared a draft statement attributed to … Rubio condemning plans by the UK, France, and Canada to block imports from Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank,” the report said.
The document is dated 8 September and, according to two sources, was pushed by David Milstein, an aide to US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee.
“These tactics unacceptably draw from the playbook of the antisemitic boycotts, divestments and sanctions movement,” the draft document stipulates, according to Reuters.
