🇺🇸🇮🇱 BREAKING: 8 US Navy Personnel Assigned To The USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group Have Attempted Suicide During The Deployment Against Iran Due To The Deteriorating Conditions Aboard, Per A Letter Obtained By CNN.
It comes as sailors and families had already described 6 sailors trying to jump overboard after the mental health crisis reached its breaking point over exhaustion, food shortages, water contamination, supply shortages, lack of basic hygiene products, poor-quality rations, toilets frequently closed and often no hot water.
One US military official says “eight attempted suicides is incredibly high,” that recent carrier strike group deployments have had only one or two attempts a year, and that “the strain of combat ops is much higher than normal deployments. No port calls, constant alerts.”
