❗️Netanyahu refuses to rule out Jewish settlements in Gaza, says plan for displacing Palestinians from strip remains on table
Speaking in a special interview with “The Patriots” on Israel’s Channel 14, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the plan for the so-called “voluntary migration” (ethnic cleansing) of Palestinians from Gaza remains on the table, and refused to rule out the reestablishment of Israeli settlements in the strip despite previously calling the idea unrealistic.
Asked whether settlements would be rebuilt, Netanyahu replied: “The question is whether you prefer to do or to talk. And yes, I prefer not to address it.”
The remarks come as Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has said preparations are underway to establish settlements in Gaza, reflecting growing support for permanent changes to the strip.
Netanyahu also said Israel must “navigate” its diplomacy with “responsiveness and force,” while remaining firm on what he described as Israel’s core interests.
Netanyahu also said Israel should gradually phase out US aid over the next decade, insisted Iran would not obtain nuclear weapons while he remains prime minister, defended his wartime decisions after 7 October, warned Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan against threatening Israel, and reiterated that his government’s judicial overhaul plans would continue.
