US special envoy Steve Witkoff has announced the launch of Phase Two of Donald Trump’s ‘Gaza plan,’ which moves from a ceasefire to establishing a US-backed “technocratic administration” in Gaza, enforcing full demilitarization of resistance groups, and beginning reconstruction, while demanding Hamas’s compliance, including the return of a final deceased captive Israeli soldier, under threat of “serious consequences.”
He also claims, despite the ongoing violations, killings, demolitions, and blockade, that Phase One succeeded in maintaining the ceasefire, delivering aid, and completing captive exchanges, crediting mediation by Egypt, Turkiye, and Qatar.
