– Iran officially rejected the latest U.S. proposal. The proposal allowed Iran to enrich uranium at civilian levels (3.67%) temporarily, until a regional enrichment consortium would be established & Iran would be forced to gradually dismante its nuclear infrastructure. Iran called the proposal ‘delusional’ and ‘one-sided’.

– Iran made a counter-proposal to the U.S. via Oman, the contents are currently unknown. Two things are known: Iran insists on domestic enrichment (permanent, not temporary) and on immediate sanctions relief. Some reports claim Iran also advocates for a ‘nuke-free Middle East’, urging Israel to destroy its existing nuclear arsenal.

– Immediately after Iran’s rejection of the U.S. proposal, Trump and Netanyahu held a phone call regarding Iran. In the phone call, Netanyahu basically expressed support for the American offer — temporary enrichment on Iranian soil which would be gradually phased out (a red line for Iran).
