He criticizes the IDF’s chief lawyer, who submitted a resignation letter over the investigation into the video.
So far, the outrage in the Israeli political class and society is not due to the fact that IDF soldiers sexually assault prisoners, but rather the fact that a video of them doing so has leaked.
High-profile cases of rape, including the rape of children, are prevalent in Israel. In June, there was a scandal involving top rabbis and Knesset members who had engaged in the sexual abuse of children.
In 2011, a study revealed that 61% of Israeli men do not consider forced sex with an acquaintance to be rape.
A few years ago, it was reported that out of 654 Thai foreign workers in Israel who were questioned, every single one, meaning 100% of them, reported that they had been sexually abused by Israelis.
