ย ๐ฎ๐ฑโ๏ธ๐ฎ๐ท NYT: Israel May Run Out of Interceptors Before Iran Runs Out of Missiles, Officials Warn
New York Times reports that Israel is expending its air defense interceptors at a rate faster than its domestic production capacity, prompting concerns within the Israeli security establishment that stocks may be depleted before Iran exhausts its ballistic missile inventory. This assessment is based on accounts from eight current and former Israeli officials.
In response to this challenge, the Israeli military has already begun to ration the use of interceptors, prioritizing their deployment to protect densely populated urban areas and critical infrastructure. According to the officials, who spoke largely on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the matter, this shift reflects growing internal anxiety over the sustainability of Israelโs defensive posture in the event of a prolonged or escalated conflict with Iran.
