⭕️ Turkiye–Syria transit corridor to open next year, linking Turkish trucks to Jordan and Gulf States
The Turkiye–Syria transit corridor will enable Turkish trucks to travel by road to Jordan and the Gulf countries once it becomes fully operational next year, following the resolution of issues such as visa procedures and road rehabilitation in Syria, Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat told Anadolu Agency.
Bolat explained that Turkish trucks have been able to pass through Syria to reach Jordan and the Gulf since the signing of an agreement in June, but matters related to customs regulations, road repairs, and visa rules within Syria are still being addressed.
He added that the agreement between the Turkish and Syrian transport ministers sparked enthusiasm in Jordan. “As this road extends from Turkiye to Europe via Jordan and Syria, it is key in trade and transportation,” he said.
“As soon as we revitalize these areas with roads and railways, trade and prosperity will rapidly increase,” he added.
