⭕️ Israeli occupation forces ambushed, injured in south Syria’s Beit Jinn, then unleash massacre against civilians
In one of the most violent escalations in southern Syria this year, Israeli occupation forces launched a predawn incursion into the town of Beit Jinn, southwest of Damascus, only to face fierce armed resistance from local fighters and residents.
Clashes erupted after two Israeli patrols crossed the border to carry out an arrest campaign, with drones and fighter jets circling overhead in support.
At least six Israeli soldiers were wounded, three seriously, after their unit was reportedly ambushed and surrounded, prompting what Israeli media described as a ‘field failure’ that triggered internal criticism within the Israeli military.
Unable to extract its trapped force, Israel responded with overwhelming force, unleashing airstrikes and artillery shelling across Beit Jinn. The bombardment killed at least 13 Syrians, including two children, and injured more than two dozen others, forcing dozens of families to flee.
One of those resisting, Hassan Mohammed Abdul Razzaq al-Saadi, was reportedly killed on his wedding day.
Syrian Civil Defense teams said they were unable to reach the wounded, as Israeli forces continued targeting any movement.
Israel claimed that the arrest raid targeted members of Jama’a al-Islamiyya (The Islamic Group), a faction also present in Lebanon.
Israeli Army Radio reported that the surrounded force’s withdrawal was only completed after heavy bombardment that killed several Syrians and wounded others.
