⭕️ Israel pressuring Lebanese Army to raid civilian homes in hunt for Hezbollah weapons
Israel is reportedly demanding that the Lebanese army conduct house-to-house searches of civilian homes in southern Lebanon to uncover alleged Hezbollah weapons, a move Beirut’s military leadership has rejected.
Lebanese security officials told Reuters that the demand was raised in recent US-led truce monitoring meetings, followed by intensified Israeli air and ground strikes viewed as coercive pressure.
Officials say the Lebanese army has already dismantled tunnels and seized arms through coordinated operations, yet Israel insists on deeper intrusion into private property. Beirut fears the tactic is meant to provoke chaos and keep the country under threat of constant escalation, while Washington urges Lebanon to open political channels with Tel Aviv, a move Hezbollah continues to oppose.
