⭕️ Irish activists face jury trial for protest against US military flights at Shannon Airport
Three Irish pro-Palestinian activists will face a jury trial after being charged over a direct action at Shannon Airport in May, which they say aimed to expose Ireland’s facilitation of US military flights supplying weapons to Israel and other warzones.
The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has referred the case to the circuit court. The three women are accused of entering the runway on 1 May, temporarily halting operations, and carrying tools including a sledgehammer, bolt cutters, and spray paint.
Palestine Action Éire said the group’s action was part of efforts to hold Ireland accountable for allowing US military aircraft to use its civilian airports while Israel continues its war on Gaza.
