US officials say the next 30 days are critical, with Washington set to tighten control over the deal’s implementation. The plan includes stabilizing the ceasefire, regulating aid deliveries, recovering the bodies of Israeli captives, deploying an international stabilization force, and advancing efforts to disarm Hamas and build a “New Rafah” as a model for post-war Gaza.

“We are now in charge of what’s going on in Gaza,” a US official told Axios.
