❗️Palestinian mother denied access to Israeli bomb shelter during missile attack
As missiles rained down on northern Israel, a Palestinian citizen of Israel was barred from entering a public bomb shelter after being identified as Arab. Samar al-Rashed, a 29-year-old single mother living near Acre, recounted rushing to the shelter with her five-year-old daughter, only to have the door slammed in her face by an Israeli neighbor who told her: “Not for you.”
Al-Rashed, who speaks fluent Hebrew, said the neighbor’s reaction followed his hearing her speak Arabic to her daughter during the rush to safety.
