❗️Latest Israeli incursions deepen instability in Syria
Israeli occupation forces have intensified their violations of Syrian sovereignty, carrying out four incursions across the southwestern provinces of Quneitra and Deraa in the past 24 hours. According to Syria’s state news agency SANA, local sources reported that Israeli soldiers deployed tanks and military vehicles across highways, main roads, and entrances to villages and towns, signaling a deliberate show of force.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) documented the incursions, noting that the movements coincided with Israeli drone flights and heightened security alerts along the ceasefire line with the Israeli-occupied Golan. SOHR highlighted that these repeated operations reflect Israel’s ongoing attempts to impose a new reality on Syrian soil, undermining stability in southern Syria and threatening an escalation of military activities in the demilitarized zone.
The Israeli aggression occurred just hours after unidentified gunmen attacked a passenger coach on the Damascus-Suwayda road, killing two civilians, in an area monitored by HTS checkpoints. This attack comes amid a wider wave of sectarian violence in Syria, including targeted killings of Alawite civilians, such as the brutal murder of 32-year-old teacher Raham Nizar Hamouda in Homs.
