 ❗️Largest Presbyterian denomination in US declares Israel’s war on Gaza a genocide

The Presbyterian Church (USA), the largest Presbyterian denomination in the United States, has overwhelmingly voted to recognize Israel’s war on Gaza as a genocide.

The measure, approved by the church’s General Assembly, also calls for divestment from Palantir Technologies and GE Aerospace over their ties to Israel’s military and intelligence services.

The resolution further urges church members to boycott Israeli products and lobby the US Congress to impose an arms embargo on Israel, marking one of the strongest institutional positions taken by a major US religious body since the start of the war.

Addressing the assembly, Rev. Dr. Fahed Abu Akel, a Palestinian American former moderator of the Presbyterian Church and survivor of the 1948 Nakba, condemned the destruction of schools, universities, hospitals, mosques, and churches in Gaza, saying they had been destroyed “with our American-made weapons and dollars.” He told delegates: “In the name of the living Christ, we cannot be silent on this matter any longer.”
