❗️Israel’s Attorney General orders draft for 50,000 Haredim amid Knesset turmoil
Israel’s Attorney General announced that over 50,000 conscription orders will be issued to ultra-Orthodox yeshiva students in July, intensifying the crisis over Haredi military service.
The move comes amid rising pressure on Netanyahu’s coalition, as both Shas and United Torah Judaism are now moving to dissolve the Knesset over the government’s failure to pass a draft exemption law.
Senior rabbis have called for withdrawing from the coalition, and Netanyahu’s government is at risk of collapse. The Supreme Court had earlier ruled that Haredim must enlist and cut funding to institutions defying the order, sparking ongoing protests from the ultra-Orthodox community.
