❗️Israeli officials propose sanctions on Palestinian Authority in response to state recognition
According to Israel’s Army Radio, senior officials in Israel’s security establishment have recommended imposing sanctions on Palestinian Authority leaders in response to multiple western countries recognizing the State of Palestine.
The proposed sanctions reportedly target President Mahmoud Abbas, Deputy President Hussein al-Sheikh, and several other figures.
Among the measures suggested are restrictions on the movement of these officials within the West Bank.
Israeli security officials also proposed economic sanctions, including restrictions on goods imported from abroad by the officials’ family members.
