❗️Iran’s parliament preparing bill to exit nuclear non-proliferation treaty (NPT)
Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei announced that Iran’s parliament is drafting legislation to withdraw from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). He emphasized, however, that Tehran remains opposed to the development of weapons of mass destruction.
The move comes amid growing tensions and years of economic pressure following the US withdrawal from the 2015 nuclear deal in 2018. Iran has since gradually reduced its commitments under the accord.
