❗️Iran rejects claims of tolls on Indian ships in Hormuz as Trump threatens action over alleged payments
Iran has denied imposing any fees on Indian vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz, dismissing accusations echoed by US President Donald Trump amid rising tensions around the waterway.
Speaking in New Delhi, Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Fathali said Tehran has not charged India for passage, according to a report from Reurters.
“You can ask the Indian government if we have charged anything up to now,” Ambassador Mohammad Fathali told reporters at a briefing at Iran’s embassy. “In this difficult time, we have good relations. We believe Iran and India share common interests and a common fate,” he added.
His remarks follow US threats to target vessels allegedly making payments to Iran, claims New Delhi has repeatedly denied.
