❗️In one year: Israel carried out 431 attacks on healthcare across the region — 90% on Palestinians
According to a report by the Good Shepherd Collective, a year of data from Insecurity Insight shows a sustained and systematic pattern of Israeli attacks on healthcare systems across the West Asia, with Palestine bearing the vast majority of the violence.
Over the past 365 days, Israeli forces have carried out 431 attacks that killed 659 healthcare workers, damaged 73 facilities, and destroyed 15 more across Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Iran, and Yemen; nearly 90% of these incidents occurred in Palestine, where Gaza remains the epicenter of destruction.
The geographic scope of these attacks, ranging from Lebanon to Iran, underscores Israel’s role as a regional power acting in service of broader western interests. Recent incidents in Gaza highlight direct strikes on clearly marked medical teams, abductions of healthcare workers, and coordinated settler assaults that mirror military tactics.
In just the past 30 days, Israeli forces have carried out 27 attacks on healthcare in Palestine, including bombardments, drone strikes, assaults on paramedics, and deliberate obstruction of ambulances, all while claiming adherence to a ceasefire.
Taken together, these incidents reveal a consistent pattern: healthcare is being treated as a battlefield target rather than a protected civilian domain. The cumulative destruction of medical facilities, the killing and kidnapping of healthcare workers, and the integration of settler violence into this ecosystem of harm demonstrate a strategic degradation of regional health systems.
