Local sources report that Israeli occupation forces have been installing iron gates at an accelerated pace across the occupied West Bank, with at least nine new gates set up today alone. Among them:

– An iron gate on Al-Shawawra Road near Bethlehem

– An iron gate and concrete blocks at the entrance of Al-Funduq village, east of Qalqilya

– An iron gate at the entrance of the town of Mukhmas, northeast of Jerusalem

– An iron gate at the entrance of the town of Al-Ram, north of Jerusalem

– An iron gate under the Zubda bridge in Jenin

Palestinian analyst Azzam Abu al-Adas has questioned the timing, saying:

Is it a coincidence that the accelerated pace of gate installations in the West Bank coincides with the military maneuvers being conducted across the territory and with Rubio’s visit — or is it just coincidence? In politics, there are no coincidences.
